U.S. Air Force personnel at RAF Bentwaters reported a triangular craft over three nights. Landing marks, elevated radiation readings, and an audio recording by the deputy base commander were documented. Often called Britain's most significant military UAP event.
In December 1980, U.S. Air Force personnel stationed at RAF Bentwaters reported encountering a triangular craft in the adjacent Rendlesham Forest over three nights around Christmas. Multiple servicemen witnessed it; investigators found three ground impressions, vegetation anomalies, and elevated radiation readings, and deputy base commander Lt. Col. Charles Halt recorded a famous real-time audio narration during the investigation. The UK Ministry of Defence officially downplayed it, but declassified documents show it was taken seriously internally. It is widely regarded as the most significant UAP event in British military history, often called "Britain's Roswell."
