In 2014–2015, Navy pilots attached to the USS Theodore Roosevelt reported near-daily encounters with Tic-Tac and sphere-shaped unidentified objects in East Coast training airspace for nearly a year. The objects had no visible propulsion or exhaust yet maneuvered at very high speed. The well-known Gimbal and GoFast videos came from this period and were declassified in 2020. Pilot Ryan Graves said the objects were present "every day for at least a couple of years," and he later became a leading advocate for pilot reporting and de-stigmatization.
