In July 2019, personnel aboard the U.S. Navy littoral combat ship USS Omaha filmed a spherical object maneuvering around the ship off San Diego before descending and entering the ocean. Subsequent sonar sweeps found no wreckage or submarine. The footage, leaked in 2021 and later confirmed authentic by the Pentagon, is among the clearest examples of a transmedium UAP — an object capable of transitioning between air and water.
